taking a look into the history of Oklahoma's abandoned communities and what it
means for rural towns today
By Isaac Dennis, Kayla Dunn, Seth fish and Avery Fulton
Oklahoma is home to over 200 ghost towns. The high concentration begs the question: what forced the residents out? what killed these communities?

Dr. Brad Bays offers insight into the historical and geographical context of what built these communities and ultimately ended them. Building upon Bay's insight, Billye Jo Denny offers a personal insight into living in a town through its hay-day to its current official status as a ghost town. Moving forward to today's rural communities, Emilie Mittelstaedt and Kaylee Holt offer insight as to what keeps their hometowns alive.
