Elevated Care Dispensary owner, Greg Stallworth:
“You start to realize when you see the people who really need it, it changes things,” Stallworth said. “When people come in a say, ‘hey you guys saved my life.’”
“Oklahoma has made like $47 million, Stallworth said. “200,000 licensed patients in the state of Oklahoma, who would have figured that?”
Elevated Care Dispensary Employee, Rachel Koeberle:
“I grew up here my whole life pretty much, and I would have never thought the place I used to eat steak in would be selling medical marijuana,” Koeberle said. “Drumright’s a town that you wouldn’t of thought that this would happen, but its definitely been beneficial.”
Elevated Care Dispensary owner’s son, Gage Stallworth:
“We have this one lady, her husband used to wheel her in in a wheelchair, and then a few weeks later after using some of the products, she walked in with a walker; and now she just walks in and grabs her stuff and walks out,” Stallworth said.
Elevated Care Dispensary Employee, Sarah Thurman:
“Years before this ever became a thing, I knew I wanted to work with medical marijuana,” Thurman said. “And it’s amazing, just seeing some of our customers like he said; they come in here and they look like they’re on the brink of death, and a few weeks later they come in here on their own, they’re not gray or blue in the face, they’re just happy.”
Drumright City Manager, Mark Whinnery:
“In Drumright, we are an oil town, and any business that allows us to diversify is really helpful because its very tricky if you’re a town with only one industry” Whinnery said. “We are almost completely reliant on sales tax, so if a dispensary comes in, sells product and generates sales tax that’s a plus... Oklahoma is the only state in the union that cities don’t get a property tax to run, so any other health options people have is good; I mean, not everything works for everybody so the more options people have for their own care the better… Anything that is a non-oil based industry that diversifies your economy is a good thing.”
